Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 240 g flour
  • 180 g butter
  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g pumpkin seeds, grated
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g icing sugar, for rolling

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Quickly crumble the flour, butter, and salt onto a board and knead into a dough with the powdered sugar and ground pumpkin seeds. Shape the pieces into nut-sized croissants and bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 160 degrees Celsius until golden brown. Mix the powdered sugar with the vanilla sugar and roll the croissants in it while still hot. This makes a wonderful pastry for afternoon coffee, but also a wonderful treat for Christmas.
