Quark and cherry casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar sour cherries (720 ml)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 400 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 3 milk rolls from the previous day, soft
  • 100 ml milk, low-fat
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan-assisted). Drain the cherries. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with salt until stiff. Mix the quark, egg yolks, and sugar. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Dice the rolls, stir them into the quark mixture along with the milk and cherries. Grease a baking dish, pour in the mixture, and bake for about 40 minutes. Let cool slightly; dust with powdered sugar before serving.
