Quark and cherry dessert with roasted almonds

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pack of cream stiffener
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 jar cherry(s)
  • 200 g quark
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 400 ml cream
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 100 g almonds

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Combine the quark, cream cheese, cream, 100g sugar, cream stabilizer, and vanilla sugar in a bowl and mix until the mixture is creamy (not stiff!). Drain the cherries. Alternate layers of cream and cherries in a baking dish. Slowly caramelize the remaining sugar in the pan. Add the cinnamon (this creates the “burnt almond flavor”). Once the sugar is melted, add the almonds and slowly mix into the mixture. Spread on a piece of baking paper to cool. Once the almonds have cooled, carefully break them into small pieces (if they stick together) and sprinkle them over the quark and cherry mixture.
