Quark Balls (Mutzen)
The perfect quark balls (mutzen) recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Flour
- 500 g Lowfat quark
- 5 Eggs
- 10 tbsp Sugar
- 2 packet Vanilla sugar
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 1 kg Coconut oil
- Beat the quark with the eggs until frothy. Add the sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir in slowly.
- Heat coconut oil in a saucepan, but not too hot, otherwise the quark balls will burn immediately. I take 2 tablespoons and take a flat tablespoon full of batter, and slide it into the hot fat with the second spoon. Then bake the balls golden yellow / light brown. Drain the finished balls on kitchen paper. Then wilt in powdered sugar. In winter I mix some cinnamon with the powdered sugar. The quark balls also taste delicious with raisins in the batter or small apple pieces. The amount is about 35-40 pieces
