Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g quark
  • 500 g sugar
  • 16 tbsp oil (sunflower)
  • 12 tbsp milk, 3.5% fat
  • 900 g flour
  • 3 packets of baking powder
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 small bottle(s) flavoring (lemon baking)
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 375 g powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

Prjaniki according to grandma’s recipe

Using a hand mixer, mix the quark, sugar, oil, milk, flour, baking powder, egg yolk, lemon flavoring, and vanilla sugar. Let the dough rest for two hours. Then form small balls (approx. 35 g) and place 12 of each on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave space as the cookies will expand slightly. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 20 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack. Mix the egg whites and powdered sugar thoroughly and brush onto the cookies. Let dry thoroughly. Makes approximately 70 cookies. They will also keep well in a suitable container.
