Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g quark
  • 30 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 80 g toast bread, finely sliced or finely grated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • 30 g granulated sugar
  • 80 g dark chocolate

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 12 minutes

Mix the quark, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and finally add the crushed toast. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes. Form the mixture into a 60g ball, flatten it, and fill it with chocolate. Use only enough chocolate to allow the quark dough to fold together easily and for the chocolate to stay in the center and not run out. Cover and let the dumplings rest for about 10-12 minutes in gently boiling water mixed with a tablespoon of sugar. Meanwhile, toast the breadcrumbs in a dry pan until golden brown, then mix with the granulated sugar. Remove the dumplings from the water and let them drain slightly on a cloth. Then roll them in the breadcrumbs and sugar mixture and slice them open. Serve on orange segments mixed with mint and grated walnuts.
