Quark Dumplings

The perfect quark dumplings recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Quark
  • 250 g Margarine
  • 250 g Sifted flour
  • 150 g Jam
  • 50 g Chocolate fat icing
  1. Stir the margarine until soft with a mixer.
  2. Add quark and flour and knead everything into a dough. If sticks just dust with flour!
  3. 3 min. Chill for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator = better overnight!
  4. Now roll out the dough – dough thickness approx. 0.5 mm and cut out either with a LARGE round or square shape.
  5. Now a little jam – depending on your taste = but not too much, otherwise it can squeeze out again at the edge! … on the mold. Depending on the size of the cut-out shape, place a second one on top or close the shape in half and press firmly on the edge! I use a dough trap to cut out my pockets and then press the two halves together with it. Works great !!!!
  6. Brush the edge with milk.
  7. Now place the dumplings on a tray and bake for about 15-20 minutes at medium heat (about 180 ° C). Are then slightly golden yellow !! Note – PLEASE put a bowl of cold water on the baking sheet when baking !!!
  8. Now spread the chocolate icing (or icing if you prefer!) On the warm dumplings. Let it cool down a bit and enjoy ….. I prefer them warm !!!!
