my favorite pastry dish

Pour the milk, melted butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest into a baking dish. Stir together the quark, salt, eggs, and flour to form a batter. Scoop small balls from the batter with a spoon and place them in the liquid in the baking dish. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 30 minutes. Serve immediately, otherwise the balls will slowly collapse. Serve with canned fruit, plum compote, or apple compote.
