Quark Spelled Sponge Cake

The perfect quark spelled sponge cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 5 Eggs (L)
  • 250 g Soft butter
  • 200 g Sifted powdered sugar
  • 250 g Lowfat quark
  • 270 g Spelled flour type 630
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • Grated lemon peel
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Sifted powdered sugar
  1. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff! Put aside.
  2. Then beat the egg yolks with soft butter until frothy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and lemon peel! Then stir in the quark! Mix flour and baking powder and add too!

Set the oven to 180 degrees!

  1. Then fold the egg white into the dough! Line a baking pan with parchment paper and fill in the dough evenly! Bake cakes in the preheated oven for 1 hour!
  2. Then fall out of the mold, cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar! If you like, you can smear it with chocolate … 🙂
