Quick baguette with fried onions

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 ml water, lukewarm
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 25 g oil
  • 100 g fried onions

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Mix the water with the yeast. In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and fried onions, then add the oil and yeast mixture. Mix the ingredients with a mixer until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Shape the dough into a baguette and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Score the surface of the baguette with a knife and bake for about 20-30 minutes. The baguette can also be baked without fried onions; in that case, simply omit them. I can well imagine it would also be delicious with sun-dried tomatoes or walnuts.
