Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g Brussels sprouts, frozen
  • 250 g cooked ham
  • 250g Gouda
  • 200 g crème fraîche
  • 30 g hazelnuts, sliced
  • Salt
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Place the Brussels sprouts, still unthawed, in boiling salted water (tip: add a little sugar to reduce the bitterness) and cook for about 8 minutes until al dente. Cut the cooked ham into thin strips. Coarsely grate the cheese and mix with the crème fraîche. Place the drained Brussels sprouts in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with a little nutmeg. Arrange the ham strips on top. Spread the cheese and crème fraîche mixture on top and sprinkle with the nuts. Bake the Brussels sprouts in a preheated oven at 250°C (480°F) top/bottom heat for 10 minutes on the second rack from the bottom. Tastes delicious as a side dish or in the evening with a slice of toast.
