Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cup of cream
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 g butter
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 200 g almonds, chopped (or slivered)

The unit of measurement is one cup of cream (250 ml). First, put the cream, 1 cup of sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and the eggs in a bowl and mix everything well. Then mix the flour, baking powder and salt with a whisk and stir into the egg and cream mixture. Spread the batter on a greased (or lined with baking paper) baking tray and smooth it out. Place the tray on the middle rack of the oven and bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, put the butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, the milk and the almonds in a small saucepan and melt on the stovetop over medium heat. Stir occasionally to ensure everything is well mixed. Finally, pour the topping onto the pre-baked batter and bake the cake on the second rack from the top for about 20 minutes.
