Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 pack of pudding powder, vanilla or cream
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Filling for cakes such as Donauwellen or Bienenstich

Whisk 1/8 liter of milk with the eggs and pudding mix. Bring the remaining milk to a boil with the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Stir in the pudding mix and bring to a boil. Don’t forget to stir frequently, or it will burn. Stir the pudding occasionally while it cools to prevent a skin from forming. When the custard is cold, spread it on the cake. I use it as a filling for things like Donauwellen (a kind of wave cake) or Bienenstich (a kind of bee sting cake).
