Semolina porridge with tangerines

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 ml milk
  • 50 g semolina (soft wheat)
  • 2 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pack of cake glaze, red
  • 1 can of mandarin oranges, 312 g
  • e.g. sugar, for the cake glaze

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Dessert for those with a sweet tooth, quickly prepared

Mix the cold milk with the semolina, sugar, and salt and bring to a boil. Then remove from the heat and let it swell for about 10 minutes. Pour the semolina into 2 large glasses while it’s still warm. After letting it cool briefly, garnish the semolina with mandarins. In the meantime, cook the glaze with the mandarin orange juice according to the instructions. Let it cool for 2 minutes and then pour it over the mandarins. Let it cool and refrigerate if desired. Tip: I used my simmer pot (water bath cooker) for this. It doesn’t burn or boil over, making it perfect for milk dishes, among other things.
