Quince – Orange – Jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g gelling sugar 2:1
  • 1 kg quince(s)
  • 2 orange(s), untreated, juice and peel

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Also delicious with quark, ice cream, cocktails and as a cake topping

Peel the zest from an orange with a vegetable peeler, chop finely, and blanch briefly. Place the peeled and roughly chopped quinces (core removed) in a saucepan with the juice of 2 oranges and cook until soft. Let cool briefly, then puree the mixture until smooth. Now add the gelling sugar and orange zest. Bring everything to a boil for another 5 minutes, then quickly pour into preheated jars and cover. The jam also tastes delicious stirred into quark or yogurt. It can be served as a sauce with ice cream or spread on cakes. I’ve even used it to mix cocktails.
