Quince slices in whiskey

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg quince(s)
  • 1 kg sugar, preserves
  • 250 ml water
  • 50 g sultanas
  • 1 lemon(s), peel and juice
  • 250 ml whiskey

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Preserving recipe – goes very well with sweet quark casserole, ice cream or dessert

Rub the quinces thoroughly, wash, peel, quarter, and core them. Cut the quince quarters into thin slices. Bring the sugar to a boil with water, lemon juice, and zest, and add the quince slices. Boil for 5 minutes, add the washed sultanas, and simmer for another 5 minutes over low heat. Once cooled, stir in the whiskey, pour into glasses, and seal.
