Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 slices of farmer’s bread or other hearty bread
  • ½ radish(s), white
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seed oil
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • some chives
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

quick alternative to bread and butter

Peel the radish and grate it as finely or coarsely as desired. Season with salt and pepper, then combine with chives and both oils, stirring thoroughly. The pumpkin seed oil adds a special flavor. Top the bread slices with thin onion rings. Spoon the radish salad onto the onion-covered bread in small portions just before each bite. Pairs well with canned herring or lean, grilled meat. Due to the high oil content, it’s not suitable as a side dish with fatty dishes.
