Red cabbage casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 m.-sized pork schnitzel
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 6 large boiled potatoes
  • 1 jar red cabbage (apple red cabbage)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 100 g Gouda or Edam, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Season the schnitzels with salt, pepper, and paprika and sear on both sides. Peel and slice the potatoes. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Arrange the red cabbage in a greased casserole dish. Fan the schnitzels and potato slices over the dish. Mix the 2 cups of sour cream with the milk and flour. Season generously with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the topping over the casserole. Sprinkle with Gouda or Edam cheese. Bake at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) for approximately 30-40 minutes.
