Red Velvet Cake, Red Velvet Cake
The perfect red velvet cake, red velvet cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Dough:
- 250 g Flour
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Cocoa
- 240 ml Buttermilk
- 2 tbsp Food coloring, red – or 1-2 bags
- 130 g Butter
- 260 g Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Vinegar
Cream:
- 500 g Ricotta
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- 50 g Coconut milk powder
- 0,5 Pck. Instant gelatin
- 200 ml Cream
- 1 Pck. Cream stiffener
- Desiccated coconut for decoration
Dough:
- Preheat the oven to 175 °. Grease any shape and line it with paper. I chose a larger loaf pan because I wanted slices when cutting the cake. A round is of course also possible. Then maybe only 24 cm, so that the cake is nice and high.
- Sift the flour and cocoa into a bowl and mix well with the salt.
- Mix the buttermilk and food coloring and stir thoroughly so that the two combine well.
- Beat butter in another bowl until frothy and then stir in sugar and vanilla extract (approx. 3 min.). Then mix in each egg individually for approx. 30 seconds until a smooth mixture has formed and then alternately stir the colored buttermilk and flour mixture to form the sugar mixture.
- Finally, mix the baking powder with the vinegar and quickly fold into the batter. Fill everything into the mold immediately and bake for 40 – 50 minutes. – Stick test, no more dough should stick. Take out and – preferably overnight – let cool down well.
Cream:
- Mix the ricotta, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, coconut powder and instant gelatin vigorously until a creamy mixture is obtained.
- Whip the cream very firmly with the cream stabilizer and fold into the ricotta cream.
- Cut the cake 1 x in the middle. Spread half of the cream on the lower dough sheet and place the second sheet on top. Distribute 2/3 of the remaining amount of cream on the cake surface and use the rest for the edge. Sprinkle grated coconut all around and on top and then put in the refrigerator for at least 1 – 2 hours.
- The dark red color of the cake is intentional (just looks like red velvet) and gives it an interesting look. He is ziiiiiiiiiiii Pretty deliciouserrrrrrrrrrr.
