Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg plum(s) (prunes)
  • 500 g sugar
  • 1 liter red wine
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 2 carnations

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 35 minutes

Wash the plums, remove the stones, and cut them in half. Toss the plums with the sugar and let them steep overnight. The next day, pour in the red wine. Add the cinnamon and cloves and heat, but do not boil. Let cool and pour into prepared jars. Tastes great with Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes), Semmelschmarrn (sweet pancakes), or even with vanilla ice cream.
