Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 21 g yeast, fresh or
  • 1 pack of dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 80 g sugar (only for sweet yeast dough, otherwise 1 tbsp)
  • 250 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 80 g butter, soft

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Basic recipe according to Grandma

No pre-dough is needed for this. Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle butter over the dough and knead briefly. Crumble the yeast over the dough, or sprinkle dry yeast over the dough, and add lukewarm milk all at once. Knead everything thoroughly for 7-8 minutes. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for at least 1-2 hours. After it has risen, work it thoroughly again or pierce it thoroughly and process it further as desired. The dough is ideal for cake bases (placed on a baking sheet), for braided bread, and sweet pastries; it can also be used to make yeast dumplings. If desired, you can add an egg (for yeast dumplings, for example), but it is not absolutely necessary.
