Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg smoked Kasseler salmon roast
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 1 liter of water
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Mustard
  • Oil (rapeseed oil)
  • Sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Chop the onions and garlic, heat the oil in a pan, and sear the roast on all sides. Remove from the pan, cover, and set aside. Brown the onions and garlic in the fat, add the water, and thicken with a sauce thickener. Season the sauce with spices, add the roast, and simmer gently for 2-2.5 hours, until tender. This dish is best served with mashed potatoes seasoned with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
