Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg roast pork
- Fat for frying
- 1 small bottle(s) of beer
- 2 slices of bread (mixed bread)
- 1 large onion(s), finely chopped
- 1 tsp mugwort
- Salt
- pepper
- Caraway seeds
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Rub the meat with salt and pepper and sear in hot fat until nicely browned. Then add the slices of bread or breadcrumbs and the finely chopped onion to the roast and brown lightly. Then add a little caraway and the mugwort. Pour beer over the whole thing, cover, and simmer gently. After about 30 minutes, pour the stock over the roast and add a little more water if necessary. Cover and cook the meat. The bread eliminates the need to thicken the sauce. The amount of beer, caraway, and mugwort can vary according to taste.
