Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
makes 24 rolls
Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the water, stir into the well, and let stand for 15 minutes. Sprinkle salt on the edge of the flour, add oil, and knead everything together. Beat for at least 10 minutes until you have a smooth, supple dough. Lightly dust the dough with flour, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface and divide it into 24 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, brush with egg, and roll in poppy seeds, sesame seeds, salt, or sunflower seeds. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let rise for another 20 minutes. Then bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for about 18 minutes. Steam for the first 5 minutes.
