  • 5 hamburger buns
  • 500 ground beef
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 370 g potatoes
  • 1 egg(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Paprika powder
  • 5 slices of cheese
  • 100 g crème fraîche
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tbsp chives
  • 10 slice(s) bacon, cut into thin slices

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Burger with beef, hash browns and crispy bacon

Season the ground beef well with a crushed garlic clove, salt, pepper, and paprika. Divide into 5 portions and form into balls, then flatten them. Make them slightly flatter than you want them to be, as they will shrink in the pan. Finely grate the potatoes, squeeze out any liquid, and mix the potatoes with an egg. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Bake 5 hash browns from the potatoes. Fry the bacon in the pan until crispy, then the ground beef until cooked through and lightly browned. Just before the end of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each piece of meat and let it melt slightly. Mix together the crème fraîche, garlic, chives, tomato paste, and mustard, then season with salt and pepper. Now assemble the burger: Cut open the buns, place the ground beef patty on the bottom half, top with the hash browns, then 1-2 slices of bacon on top, and then a generous dollop of the crème fraîche sauce. Close the burger and enjoy. If you’re in a hurry, you can of course use store-bought hash browns. Barbecue sauce also works well as a sauce.
