Rum Barbecue Spare Ribs

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 3 kg ribs (spare ribs, spare ribs)
  • ½ liter tomato(s) – basic sauce
  • 1 cup(s) dark rum
  • 1 cup(s) honey
  • ¼ cup(s) vinegar (red wine vinegar)
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the spare ribs into portions, place them in a large pot, and cover with water. Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Drain and pat dry. Combine the sauce ingredients in a pot and season to taste. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Brush the spare ribs generously with the sauce and grill or roast slowly in a roasting pan in the oven until crispy, brushing frequently.
