Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 800 g sunflower seeds
  • 400 g sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tbsp oil, neutral

a dessert that’s addictive!

Dry roast the sunflower seeds in a pan, let them cool, and then grind them through a meat grinder 3-4 times until a very fine paste forms. Heat the sugar and flour in a pan, stirring constantly, until a darker paste forms. Then add the water and make a syrup. Mix the syrup with the sunflower seeds and add the oil. Pour into a baking dish and press firmly into the mixture with your hands. Refrigerate for several hours, preferably overnight. Tip: Leftover halva should be refrigerated.
