Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 slices of white bread (white loaf)
  • 2 slice(s) ham, cooked
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 cucumbers (gherkins)
  • ½ stalk(s) celery
  • ½ onion(s), red
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • chili sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Hard-boil the eggs, rinse, peel, and dice. Slice the gherkins, dice the celery stalk, and chop the onion not too finely. Combine the eggs, celery, onion, and gherkins. Stir in the remaining ingredients and pour over the mixture. Season to taste with salt, sugar, and chili sauce. Mix thoroughly and let stand for 1 hour. Lightly toast the slices of white bread and top with the ham and egg salad.
