Baked sheep cheese is a specialty of Greek cuisine
Cut the two pieces of feta cheese (don’t choose cow’s milk feta or other cheaper alternatives) into four equally thick slices each. For the breading, beat the egg in a deep dish and prepare some flour on a plate. First, dip the feta cheese slices in the egg on both sides and then coat them in the flour. Fry the breaded slices in batches in hot olive oil, adding more olive oil if necessary, until golden brown on all four sides. Drain on kitchen paper. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with oregano and arrange on plates. Serve with bread. It can also be served as a side dish to a salad.
