Sage and bacon sauce with mushrooms

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 80 g bacon (smoked bacon), cut into fine strips or cubes
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 handful of sage
  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 200 g cream
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the bacon over low heat for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Meanwhile, peel the garlic and thinly slice it. Halve the sage leaves lengthwise. Remove the bacon cubes from the pan. Add the mushrooms, garlic, and sage to the bacon fat and sauté for 2 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently. Season with salt and pepper. Pour in the cream and simmer for another 2 minutes. Stir in the bacon cubes. Serve with pasta.
