Sage – cheese – sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 50 g butter / margarine
  • 50 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml water
  • 250 g cream
  • 2 tsp vegetable broth
  • ½ bunch sage
  • 100 g Parmesan
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

First, peel and finely dice the onions and garlic. Sauté both in hot fat, dust with flour, and sweat. Deglaze with milk, cream, and water and bring to a boil. Stir in the stock and then simmer for about 5 minutes. Wash the sage and finely slice or chop the leaves. Finely grate the cheese and stir both into the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Best served with spaghetti or tagliatelle.
