Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 salmon fillets, 125 g each
  • 1 organic lemon(s)
  • 2 kohlrabi
  • 100 ml cream
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs, chopped, for gratin and garnish
  • a little nutmeg
  • some salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Wash the lemon, halve it, squeeze the juice from one half, and thinly slice the other half. Place the salmon in an ovenproof dish, drizzle with lemon juice, season with salt and pepper, and cover with all but two of the lemon slices. Peel the kohlrabi and thinly slice it. Place a layer of kohlrabi slices in an ovenproof dish and season with a little salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Sprinkle a little grated cheese and about a tablespoon of cream over the first layer. Repeat until the dish is full, then top the last layer with more cheese and fresh herbs. Bake the kohlrabi gratin for about 40 to 45 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. After 20 minutes of baking, add the salmon to the oven and cook for the remaining 20 to 25 minutes. Arrange everything on plates and garnish with lemon slices and herbs.
