Salt lemons my way

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 organic lemons
  • 2 tbsp, leveled salt
  • 1 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • 2 lemons, juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 6 days; Total time approx. 6 days 20 minutes

easy and quick to enjoy

First, mix the salt with the sugar. Then, cut the rinsed organic lemons into slices approximately 2 mm wide. Spread these slices out on a cutting board and sprinkle thinly with the salt-sugar mixture. Remove any pips. Layer everything fairly tightly in a hot, rinsed jar. Cover with lemon juice so that all the slices are covered. Close the lid and let stand outside at normal temperature for two days, then refrigerate. The lemons are ready to eat after six days at the latest. They will keep in the refrigerator for a good six months and are very easy to remove individually. If you have any leftover salt-sugar mixture, don’t throw it away; use it for something else.
