Sauerkraut casserole with minced meat and feta

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes, cut into thin slices
  • 300 ml milk
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 1 onion(s), chopped
  • 200 g minced meat, mixed
  • 150 g feta cheese
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Paprika powder
  • Caraway seeds
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the potato slices with milk, heavy cream, bay leaf, and ½ teaspoon salt for about 10 minutes. Brown the ground beef with onion and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Then stir in the sauerkraut and caraway seeds. Layer the potatoes and sauerkraut-ground beef mixture in a baking dish and pour over the milk and cream mixture. Sprinkle the mixture with crumbled feta cheese and place in the oven. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 to 25 minutes. Serve immediately.
