Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 tbsp oil (more or less as needed)
  • 2 onions
  • 500 g sausage (Lyoner)
  • 4 cucumber(s) (pickles)
  • 1 cup tomato ketchup (coffee mug)
  • 1 small can of mushrooms
  • 1 small jar of beetroot
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 4 cl brandy
  • 1 tsp curry
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bunch of parsley

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Sauté the finely chopped onions in oil, add the diced sausage, and also the sliced ​​gherkin. Add the mushrooms and beets, mix with ketchup, and top with the cream. Season with brandy, paprika, cayenne pepper, and curry powder, and season with salt and pepper. Let the dish simmer for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley before serving. Omit the brandy if serving with children. Serve with either pasta or baguette. I tried this recipe a while ago out of pure curiosity, as the ingredients sounded rather “wild.” But all I can say is, it’s absolutely delicious! Perfect for kids too!
