Sausage strips in mustard and cream sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ring/s meat sausage, large
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup of cream
  • ½ liter of milk
  • some meat broth, granulated
  • 1 tsp coarse mustard
  • 1 tsp mustard, hot or medium hot
  • some salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

quick and easy to make, even for children

Skin the sausage and cut/shred into long, narrow strips. Then fry the strips in a little oil in a deep, large pan until lightly browned; for me, this takes about 10 minutes, turning frequently. Mix the sour cream with the cream until smooth, add a little granulated meat broth, and add it all at once to the sausage in the pan. Pour in enough milk to lightly cover the sausage pieces. Bring the sausage strips to a boil and season with salt and pepper. Then simmer everything for a while; this usually takes about 10 minutes, then add both types of mustard and stir in. Serve the sausage strips hot. Pasta or fries go well with this. (Boiled) potatoes also work. A mixed green salad makes a delicious side dish. For small children, I would use the medium-hot mustard instead of hot.
