Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 ring/s of meat sausage
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 apple (Boskoop)
  • 100 g cheese, Gouda, medium-aged
  • 50 g smoked belly, streaky
  • Butter, melted
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

If necessary, remove the skin from the sausage, then cut it into 1.5-2 cm slices. Cut the onion into thick half-moons, the peeled apple into eighths, and the cheese and bacon into 0.5 cm thick slices. Place the ingredients alternately into the cuts, brush everything with melted butter, and grill for 10-15 minutes under the preheated grill. Sprinkle with paprika. Mashed potatoes go very well with this. If you have any leftover filling (or make more in advance), you can spread it around the sausage and cook it with the meat. If you don’t have any cheese in a block, you can also sprinkle the sausage with grated cheese.
