Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 pack of puff pastry
- 150 g ham, sliced (you can also mix it with bacon)
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 cup crème fraîche, with herbs or garlic
- 3 clove(s) garlic, squeezed (optional)
- 150 g cheese, sliced or grated (Gouda, Emmental or partly Gorgonzola)
- 1 egg yolk (optional)
Instructions
Working time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 8 minutes
Unroll the puff pastry, spread with crème fraîche (best done with the back of a spoon), and arrange the sliced raw onion on top. Spread the ham (or bacon) over the top, then sprinkle with crushed garlic and finally top with the cheese (you can also add canned mushrooms). Fold the dough over and press down firmly (including the ends), brush with water or egg yolk, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) (180°C fan-assisted) until the strudel is golden brown.
