Savory Vegan Carrot Spread

The perfect savory vegan carrot spread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 3 tbsp Chopped ginger
  • 2 Pc. Chopped onions
  • 2 tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 100 g Vegan margarine (e.g. Alsan)
  • 400 g Peeled and diced carrots
  • 100 g Tomato paste
  • 1,5 tsp Salt (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 tsp Curry
  • Chilli to taste
  1. Melt Alsan and sweat the ginger in it until translucent.
  2. Add onion cubes and lightly brown.
  3. Add the knobi and fry for about 2 minutes.
  4. Do the same with the spices.
  5. Mix in the tomato paste well and add the diced carrots. Pour about 100ml of water and steam the carrots until soft.
  6. Use the hand blender to grind to a homogeneous mass.
  7. Taste and pour into glasses. (Makes about 500ml.)
  8. Close tightly and store in the refrigerator after cooling. This way the spread can be kept for a few days. For a longer shelf life you would have to wake them up.
  9. The spread is very, very tasty and certainly variable, both in terms of the vegetables (e.g. celery, parsnips, parsley root, etc.), as well as the spices. Just try it out and let your imagination run wild!
