Savory, vegan puff pastry parcels

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 125 g smoked tofu
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • 1 onion(s) or 3 spring onions
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 pack of tomato(s), pureed (500 g)
  • 2 packs of vegan puff pastry from the refrigerated section
  • pepper
  • Salt
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Add the bell peppers and smoked tofu and fry for 10 minutes. Add the tomatoes and fry for another 5 minutes. Add the passata and simmer briefly. Now it’s time to season. If you don’t have a lot of spices at home, use paprika, pepper, and salt. You can also use different spice blends or fresh herbs such as parsley, oregano, and others. Unroll the puff pastry and cut it twice lengthwise and three times crosswise to create 12 equal-sized rectangles. Do this with both pieces of dough. Place the first 12 rectangles on a baking sheet and spread the sauce. Spoon about 1 large tablespoon of sauce onto each square. Now moisten the other 12 rectangles and place them on top. Press firmly on the sides and cut three times on top. Place in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 to 20 minutes. Can be eaten hot or cold.
