Savoy cabbage cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of savoy cabbage
  • 750 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 300 g bacon (belly bacon)
  • Maggi, spice mix no. 3

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Separate and discard the dark green leaves from the savoy cabbage, then separate the rest and cut out the thick ribs in the middle. Boil the savoy cabbage leaves in hot water for about 10 minutes, drain in a sieve and let cool. Meanwhile, cut the bacon into thin slices and line the bottom of a large pot with half of it. Mix the minced meat with the egg and seasoning mix and add it to the pot with the savoy cabbage in layers on top of the bacon. Spread the other half of the bacon on top, add a little water, cover and simmer slowly over medium heat until the minced meat is tender. Finally, drain off the excess water, turn the pie out onto a plate and cut into quarters. This goes perfectly with potatoes and gravy, although the pie is filling enough on its own.
