Savoy cabbage from the oven

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 heads of savoy cabbage, small or one large
  • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g sweet cream
  • 125 g breadcrumbs, preferably freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Remove the outer leaves from the savoy cabbage, separate the others one by one, and flatten the ribs. Wash thoroughly. Bring plenty of salted water to a boil and blanch the leaves in batches for about 3 minutes. Drain on a kitchen towel and let cool. Form the leaves into small balls and place them side by side in a buttered baking dish. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, melted butter, and cream. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes. Serve with any kind of potato or, for example, fried slices of smoked pork.
