Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g matjes fillet(s)
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 4 gherkins
  • 1 slice(s) bacon
  • pepper
  • 1 tsp, leveled mustard, medium hot
  • 1 dashes vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 15 minutes

Grandma’s way

Drain the oil from the matjes, then blend all ingredients together with a hand blender until the desired consistency is reached. Transfer the mixture to a jar and let it sit for 1 day. It makes an excellent spread.
