Schnitzel alla bolognese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 can of tomatoes (850ml)
  • 100 ml whipped cream
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 pork schnitzels
  • 250 g minced meat, mixed
  • 75 g cheese (grated Gouda)
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely dice the onions, garlic, and carrots. In a bowl, mix with the tomatoes, juice, and cream, breaking up the tomatoes as you go. Season generously with oregano, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar. Season the schnitzel with salt and pepper and place in a greased baking dish. Season the minced meat with salt and pepper. Spread over the schnitzel and press down lightly. Pour the tomato sauce over it. Braise in the oven at 175°C (350°F), fan oven 150°C (300°F) for 1.5 hours. Ensure the meat is well coated with the sauce. Add a little more stock, if desired. Sprinkle the cheese over the schnitzel 20 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
