Schnitzel roll "Caprese" with honey-mustard cream cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 chicken schnitzels, ready to cook, breaded and fried
  • 4 ciabatta rolls, fresh
  • 1 bunch arugula
  • 4 slices of mozzarella
  • 4 slice(s) of tomato(s)
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 1 ½ tsp mustard, medium hot
  • 1 ½ tbsp honey
  • salt and pepper
  • chili flakes
  • some basil leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

quick snack, not just for on the go

Cut open the rolls. Wash the arugula and trim the long stems. Mix the cream cheese with honey and mustard and season with salt, pepper, and chili, if desired. Spread the cream cheese on each roll half, divide the lettuce between the bottom halves, add the schnitzel and—depending on the size of the roll—1-2 slices of mozzarella and tomato, along with some basil. Put the lid on, and you’re done! If you like, you can of course use unbreaded schnitzel or bread and fry the schnitzel yourself. It will take a little longer, but it will definitely taste even better.
