Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 kg tomatoes, ripe
- 1 kg onion(s)
- 300 g apples
- 10 plums
- 2 tbsp pepper
- 4 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 grains allspice
- 400 g sugar
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 200 ml vinegar
- n. B. garlic clove(s)
- 1 chili pepper(s), optional
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Wash and roughly quarter the tomatoes. Peel the onion and slice the same way, core the apples and pit the plums, and place everything in a roasting pan. Add the spices, stir everything together, and cook uncovered in the oven for one and a half hours. Then mill everything through a food mill and collect it in a saucepan. Bring back to a boil briefly, or if it’s still too runny, reduce it a little. If you like, add chopped garlic and a chopped chili pepper. Pour everything into jars while still hot and quickly seal the jars. It will easily keep for over a year.
