School sandwiches in the evening

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 slice(s) of bread (school bread) from the morning, topped with either sausage and/or cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some chives or parsley
  • 1 slice(s) tomato(s) or cucumber for decoration
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Remove the topping from the bread. Fry the bread in a heated pan, placing it on the side that is coated with butter or margarine first (this often saves fat in the pan). Cut the sausage and/or cheese into thin strips and fry them briefly on the side of the bread in the pan. Turn the bread over and arrange the sausage strips on the slice. Whisk the egg and pour it over the bread, then sprinkle the cheese strips on top. Place a lid on the pan and let the egg set over low heat. Serve on a plate and garnish with a small slice of tomato or cucumber, then sprinkle with chives or parsley. Anyone who knows the frustration of uneaten school sandwiches also knows that they usually end up in the trash. But that doesn’t have to be the case. My children loved and still love this version.
