Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 600 g sugar
- 600 ml water
- e.g. lemon juice
- 250 g butter, soft
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 120 g semolina
- 2 egg whites
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 350 g flour
- 100 g walnuts, ground
- 2 egg yolks
- 4 tbsp pistachios, ground

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Turkish sweet, dessert
For the sugar syrup, combine the sugar with the water and bring to a boil. Once it starts to boil, add 4-5 drops of lemon juice and simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes. For the dough, mix all the ingredients together and prepare a dough. Small balls are formed from the dough, filled with walnuts and brushed with egg yolk. Then bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C until golden brown. Let the pastries cool for about five minutes and pour the lukewarm syrup over them. Finally, garnish with ground pistachios.
