Semolina casserole for those in a hurry

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 liter buttermilk
  • 200 g semolina
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s) (size M)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • e.g. cinnamon
  • 500 g fruit (apples, pitted cherries or mixed berries)
  • 4 servings of sauce, chocolate or vanilla

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Pour buttermilk into a large mixing bowl. Add semolina, sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, salt, and baking powder. Mix everything thoroughly with a hand mixer. Pour the mixture (it will be very runny!) into a medium-sized baking dish lined with baking foil. Now spread the desired fruit over the mixture. Press it in slightly and bake at 180°C for about 45-60 minutes. I do the “finger test.” If the casserole is firm in the center, it’s done. The casserole should be golden brown. Serve with chocolate or vanilla sauce. Variation: The casserole can also be baked without fruit. Then serve applesauce with a little cocoa powder or cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top, and enjoy!
