Semolina dumplings with Krachelcher and cream sauce

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 200 g semolina
  • 750 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 small roll
  • 200 ml cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Heat the milk. Add the salt and gradually add the semolina, stirring constantly. Stir in the eggs and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and let stand for a few more minutes. Meanwhile, heat the butter. Add the diced bread and lightly toast. Remove the crumbs, scoop out the semolina dumplings with a spoon, and keep warm. Heat the cream in the same pan and season to taste. Serve the dumplings on plates with the cream sauce. Spoon the Krachelcher on top. A green salad or pickled fruit goes very well with this.
